Hey! This morning we hiked up to the top of a hill overlooking the lake and mountains to see the sunrise. The monsoon clouds have started to leave and it was a beautiful view. There is a pagoda on the top of the hill with a couple monks who were doing their morning chanting. They're not so good with keeping the tune or the beat and it was rather annoying.
The whole city is pretty busy this week as it is a huge hindu holliday. Hundreds and hundreds of goats have been brought into the city from the hills to be sacrificed and eaten and the flocks cause big traffic jams as they stray onto the roads. It's rather difficult biking through a flock of a hundred goats as they all have big curly horns that stick out from their bodies and catch unsuspecting motorists.
Keith, who we're working with, has his project manager from his mission organization here for a couple days so we had dinner with them last night. We've got the next couple days off then we're headed out on a 8 day trek to the annapurna sanctuary and annapurna base camp. It's pretty much right in the middle of the mountain range in the pictures below so we're pretty excited. On of the tibetans, Tenzing, is coming with us which should be fun. He's the manager of the juice factory and the captain of the tibetan national soccer team.
The following are some pictures from this morning and a goat-jam
